Peter Briger and his Contribution at Fortress Investment Group

Mr. Peter Briger is the principal and co-chairman of Fortress’ Board of directors. Having graduated with a degree in business administration from Princeton University, he went on to attain his masters in the bachelor of business administration from the same university. His first appointment at Fortress came in 2002 when became a committee member. He, however, went on to become a member of the board of directors through an appointment that came in 2006. In August 2009, Peter Briger was elected as a co-chairman at the company’s board of directors. With this post, he was in charge of credit management and real estate.

Fortress is an investment company that has grown to become a trend setter in the industry. Notably, its initial public offering (IPO) in 2007 made history as the first large-scale private equity firm to have gone public on the New York Stock Exchange. Currently, Fortress stands out as a diversified management firm on investment that directs well over $43 billion in assets for more than 1,750 investors in hedge funds, permanent capital vehicles and private equity. Apart from Peter Briger, the company also has New York based Wes Eden sans Randal Nardone as its principals.

The Fortress investment group specializes in various core expertise areas that include operations management, asset based investing, corporate acquisitions and mergers, and capital markets. Peter Briger is also a strong believer is educating the young generations. This can be seen in his involvement with Calibre Charter Schools that are focused in ushering students into real life experiences through a competitive four-year college. He is also big on entrepreneurship and is a member of the Alumni advisory board founded in 2015 to help empower entrepreneurship at Princeton University. His successes saw him ranked number 317 out of 400 wealthiest Americans in 2007, and he has since been making positive strides towards empowering others to follow his steps.
